May Payrolls +138k

Once again the Good Ship Lollypop floats on the back of its Services sectors. Except that in May the ship listed a bit at only 138,000 jobs created. It’s backward looking data that I am sure the mainstream will make a big deal about, but suffice it to say it reflects an okay economy that could be subject to being not okay (per some of our macro indicators, anyway) in the coming months.

Here is the sector breakdown showing a manufacturing contraction (despite the ongoing weakness in the USD, no less… hmmm) and the heavy lifting done by Professional services, Education & Health services and Leisure & Hospitality services… as the economy services itself once again.


So is Trump still on the agenda of vacuuming up immigrants, criminal and non criminal alike? If not, you know who will need to come out of retirement. Once he sees Hazel’s demands and those of her contemporaries, adjusted for inflation after all these years…
