The Triumphant Return of Happy Trader!

Sad trader, happy trader, awestruck trader… he’s happy again!

I have to hand it to this gentleman. He has parlayed facial expressions into a cottage industry that has even landed him on CNN (I almost fell out of my chair laughing) as part of a panel on CNN sensationalizing the market’s volatility back in April when they were going 24/7 about the bear market Trump was causing.

Here was my post from April, when the market was in deep doodoo. It was just hilarious that this guy had somehow become the face of stock market traders everywhere. What a gig. The MSM seemed to trot him out daily, sad… happy… sad again. But in general, with respect to the CNN anti-market promo, he made his bones as sad trader (and a great contrary indicator).

He was highly Concerned Trader on CNN, telling the public exactly what it needed to hear. Telling the herd what it needed to know in order to be on the wrong side of what was an in-the-bag recovery that grinds on to this day.

Indeed, our expectation had been for a sharp rally and through upside milestones, that became an expectation for new highs. And here is NDX finally attaining just that today (SPX came within a hair of its February high). All those gaps NDX and SPX are leaving can be attended to on another day. But for today, it’s all good. Happy Trader is letting you, and the public, know that.

As to the headline below Happy Trader’s happy face? They call that a wall of worry. Happy Trader’s demeanor instructs the public “don’t worry, be happy”. Perfect. Stop worrying, herd. So maybe we can get a top in the not too distant future.

I am short nothing and long a lot of things, because a) I’ve expected this outcome and b) well, the Silver/Gold ratio. Eh? I am doing very well and so is NFTRH’s analysis, because we did the work to be contrary when it was appropriate in April. Then-sad Trader was very helpful at that time.

Today, Happy-again Trader will probably turn out to be a contrary helper again. But these things don’t happen in real time. They are conditions, not timers. So Happy Trader smiles on and you’ll notice that CNN does not have him on lately because, well, he’s happy.

There are other indications to be watched, for sure. Including ones that could turn out to paint my view of a terminal rally as incorrect. But so far, the view is not wrong. It is completely correct, and Happy Trader is 100% in alignment with that. Don’t worry herd, be happy.
