Sowa Seeks Help

I shared this story with you back in February:

Sowa Goat Sanctuary; Doing God’s Work

Sowa goat sanctuary

I spent a morning there playing with the goats while my wife and other volunteers worked their butts off as they do every Saturday morning (while many others help cover the other days of the week as Olivia and Jim work full time when they are not working at the sanctuary). I mean, I see some little goats with injuries from abuse and/or natural deformities rolling around with wheels for legs, just as happy as the more abled goats, and I know that compassion is a thing. The place is real. I checked it first hand. *

Sowa has broken ground on the new special needs barn for these awesome creatures and I want to again share some info in case you’d be interested in helping them out. From Sowa’s Olivia DiNardo (her email to my wife and other volunteers):

Happy Friday Sowa crew!

As most of you know we’ve broken ground on the special needs barn and are going to be ramping up the fundraising for this huge project by launching our 5-1-4 challenge. The goal of this challenge is to get 30K of our followers and ppl in their networks to donate just FIVE dollars, share the campaign/GoFundMe with ONE click to their social media, email list, group chats, coworkers, etc. and do it 4 the animals. We never expect you guys to contribute monetarily to Sowa because you already do so much for the sanctuary by donating your time and kindness every week, but it would mean so much to us if you could share the campaign to get as many eyes on it as possible.

As an added incentive to encourage ppl to join the challenge, we are giving away an all-expense paid trip from anywhere in the continental US to the sanctuary for a weekend. This includes airfare for the winner and a guest, a 2-night stay at the Airbnb, a rental car, meals, snacks, some Sowa swag, and private one-on-one time with the animals. So if you know anyone in your life who would love to win this getaway, send them the IG campaign or GoFundMe link, ask them to donate just $5, share it with their network, and they’ll be automatically entered to win!

Here is the GoFundMe link with lots of info on the project: https://www.gofundme.com/f/nemos-special-needs-facility

I’ll be posting on IG and FB shortly, so if you’re on social media and could share the reel, that would be so helpful and very appreciated.

Thank you so much for all you do and have a great weekend!

Olivia

Thank you for taking a moment from your weekend to read and consider.

* I am aware that there exist animal welfare versions of boiler rooms, which set up shop as non-profits in order to capitalize and care not a thing about the animals, which are neglected as mere props (at best) and exist in a vicious cycle of human cruelty. Hence, my visit so that I could not only enjoy these lovable creatures, but see with my own two eyes the great work Sowa is doing. Although seeing my intelligent and savvy wife trudge off to work there every Saturday morning was really all the proof I needed.
