#TACO Seeks an Off-Ramp, Burns Bridges

Trump needs an off-ramp, and is burning bridges while he’s at it

A man in a suit stands behind a taco stand with signs advertising tacos for sale, set against a backdrop of a burning building and oil pumps, with people walking by.

He tried every TACO trick in the book and they all stopped listening. The Iranians, the American people, the stock market! He tried to find his off-ramp, TACOs on sale for one and all. But still the Straight of Hormuz remained closed, gas prices remained aloft and the war to commit American personnel and the public’s $billions to, which he and a foreign leader decided upon, is getting messier.

Trump needs an off-ramp. And he appears to be cracking under the pressure of the US public’s negative views of his little “excursion” using their tax dollars (both literal, and implied by the tax-like burden his tariff regime has placed on the American people). You know, those same billions of debt-money that are needed right here at home?

Israel’s government approves of the “excursion” wholeheartedly. US citizens do not.

Now, assuming their is no April Fools Day angle to this, per Reuters:

US to leave Iran ‘pretty quickly’ and return if needed, Trump tells Reuters

WASHINGTON, April 1 (Reuters) – The United States will be “out of Iran pretty ‌quickly” and could return for “spot hits” if needed, President Donald Trump told Reuters on Wednesday, hours before he was scheduled to make a primetime address to the nation.

“Spot hits”, eh? Way to sound in control of a situation that is clearly not following the path of your control, sir. He’s telling the markets what they want to hear. He’s TACO’ing. He’s turning tail while trying to sound tough.

Trump, in a phone interview with Reuters, said one element of his speech would be to express his disgust with NATO for what he considers the alliance’s lack of support for U.S. objectives in Iran. He said he is “absolutely” considering an attempt to withdraw the United States from NATO, a treaty organization ratified by the U.S. Senate in 1949.

“They haven’t been friends when we needed them,” Trump said. “We’ve never asked them for much … it’s a one-way street.”

Asked when the United States would consider the Iran war over, Trump said: “I can’t tell you exactly …. we’re going to be out pretty quickly.”

Because of course, it’s NATO’s fault. It’s NATO’s fault that Trump listened to the little Bibi in his ear and attacked Iran without consulting the US Congress, let alone NATO allies.

Have you noticed? Nothing is ever Trump’s fault. That is diagnosable. And scary.

      Absolutely.

Much better to have let Iran Regime get ballistic missiles and nukes and let them take out the Democrat cities like
Chicago, NYC, Boston, Minneapolis, Baltimore, Portland, Philadelphia, Detroit, Cleveland, San Francisco and Seattle.

I could sort of get to like the Mullah Regime were they to do that. Tucker Carlson and I could finally agree on something, being anti-war and all that.

Then have Rubio complain at the United Nations and JD vance convince Trump to not relatiate. Wouldn’t want a war, right?
