Last night we got a text from our daughter who is in her first month of freshman year in New York City. Her dorm is in the upper west side of Manhattan, but last night we found out about the bombing in NYC from her. She was out with a friend from school and very close to the neighborhood where it happened. She had a heck of a time trying to get back to her dorm as transit was all messed up for a while. Of course her phone died shortly after she texted but we finally got the ‘all good’ at around 1:30 AM. A kid from this country town (that neither of my daughters like in the least and I am no longer interested in either) to NYC and all it has to offer. It’s just amazing, really, the lessons you get in life. Anyway, perspective.
