A Strange (and Satisfying) Day

As of 11:11 AM US Eastern time 7 of 7 of my short positions are working and 8 of my 15 (non-precious metals) long positions are working.

I am not a genius. I am a product of two things; 1) trying to have balance in my portfolios as opposed to leaning hard one way or another in this casino, and 2) an awareness of the inflation and interest rate backdrops and how different items respond to different macro backdrops.

The day is young and the market full of volatile surprises on any given day. But I had something to do today from pre-market (after making an in-depth precious metals update for subscribers) until about 10:30 and was pleased to come back and see that balance had seen the portfolios through without the need to be sitting here like a wild-eyed casino patron on crack.

Meanwhile, for once it’s the headline indexes getting dope hammered while broader aspects of the market are doing just fine. This is working against me too, because a couple of my watch list ‘buy’ items are green too!
